Simon Carter caught the ‘arty’ bug at school and still takes the medicine. His amazing wife (Jane) and two glorious kids (Wilf and Edith) continue to put up with his random.

Somewhere in the middle of a topsy turvy performing career (including stand-up shows with the likes of Harry Hill, Al Murray and Johnny Vegas, radio comedy credits for the BBC and award-winning exploits touring his plays at arts festivals across the UK) Simon has learned that a gift for communicating is often best used to help and encourage others, not just make them laugh.

Better is all about caring for a loved one through serious illness and how human beings can be utterly beautiful when they’re not fighting each other.

Stairway is a comedy drama about a serious subject which (despite all the great work being done to inform and educate) still isn’t taken seriously enough. It’s also a story about faith, because Simon tried to be an atheist once and just couldn’t believe in any of it.
